2. Complete articles for the prepared volume of the journal (for the next year) should be delivered to the Editorial Office by 31 December of the year which precedes the publication of the volume.
3. Submitted materials should meet the technical requirements specified below, as well as contain exact information about the author: name and surname, full name and workplace address, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, ORCID number (Open Researcher and Contributor ID; DOI 10.34698/sl).
4. The editorial team reserves the right to make small changes, additions and stylistic corrections, as well as to clarify terminology, etc. In the event of major changes, the paper will be sent to the Author with a request for clarification, making appropriate corrections, etc.
5. Complete papers should be sent to the Editor in a digital form on an electronic medium or via electronic mail to studialednickie@lednica.pl or via free file transfer services, where sending large files is possible. It is important to name the files adequately especially if they are sent in two or three parts. When sending a paper to section I-II of the journal, you should prepare an abstract, key words and summary.
6. The Author is obliged to provide the editors with the suggestions concerning the format of the paper when the paper is sent (this applies to all elements of the papers and figures). The decision regarding the final formatting of the text remains with the Editors.
7. The editors of the journal make the first verification of papers submitted for publication.
8. The editorial office may check the submitted articles for plagiarism.
9. In order to maintain a high level of scientific reliability of works printed in Studia Lednickie and in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Editorial Board adheres to publication ethics and publication malpractice rules. Detailed information can be found in the statement concerning publication ethics and publication malpractice (tab: [Publication ethics and publication malpractice statement])
10. The publisher of the journal Studia Lednickie does not charge authors any fees for the publication of articles.
11. The publisher allows authors of articles to deposit their electronic versions (Published version - Version of Record) in institutional repositories of their choice.
12. All papers sent to the Editor (to sections I. Studies and II. Materials and analyses) are forwarded to the subject expert for review. Detailed information is given in the rules for reviewing articles (tab: Rules for reviewing articles).
13. After the paper has been accepted for publication, an appropriate publishing agreement will be concluded between the Museum of the First Piasts at Lednica (the Publisher) and the Author of the paper.
14. The full electronic version (pdf) of Studia Lednickie is available on the journal’s website (www.studialednickie.pl), on the website of Muzeum Historii Polski (www.bazhum.muzhp.pl), on CEJSH (the Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities) website, ICI (Index Copernicus International) website and POL-index website with Open Access mandate. In this way the journal assures open and immediate access to the published texts, which enhances the global development of science.
III. Paper preparation
1. Prepare the paper in Windows environment (MS Word).
2. Write your paper using first or third-person singular (and plural if there are at least two authors) or in an impersonal form.
3. Use only Harvard style for in-text citation and footnotes, i.e., square bracket – name – year of publication – colon – page number – comma – figure (Fig.), table (Table), table (tab.) etc. – square bracket, e.g.: [Banaszak 2011: 34, Fig. 3: 1] or if an author is mentioned in narration: Banaszak [2011; 34, fig. 3: 1].
4. Footnotes (with cross-reference in the text) should contain relevant supplementary information and should not be treated as a field for entering further bibliographic entries.
5. Attach List of Figures in a separate document. Links to figures, photographs, tables etc. should be indicated in the text in round brackets: (Fig. 1), (Table 1), etc.
6. Attach a summary in a separate document. The summary should be approximately 10-20% of the paper long and should be written in the same language as the prepared paper. If the Author decides to translate the summary on his own (into English!), please translate also the title of the paper, captions for tables, figures or photographs; please provide the name of the translator under the summary. In addition, please include more difficult professional terms (in English). Foreign language papers should have the above elements translated into Polish.
7. Detailed rules:
a) margins: 2.0 cm,
b) Times New Roman font, text justified
c) size: 12 points,
d) line spacing: 1.5
e) pages without headers and footers,
f) all quotes should be written in quotation marks (as opposed to quotes from ethnographic interviews, which we write in italics), with their source acknowledged.
IV. Figures and photographs
1. All figures should be provided with captions, which should be placed in a separate document.
2. Figures should be numbered only in order in which they are mentioned in the text.
3. Figures showing artefacts, graves, etc. should be provided with a legible and proportional linear scale, and individual artefacts should be marked with Arial font in the appropriate size.
4. Original maps, sketches, plans, etc. should be oriented towards the north (this rule does not apply to archival illustrations).
5. Explanations for figures should be placed in captions to figures.
6. If you include reproductions, please provide a written consent of the owner of the work to use the reproduction and the image of the owner of the work in your paper submitted for publication in Studia Lednickie.
7. The caption to each figure should contain the name and number of site or feature, artefact type and the author.
8. Photographs (referred to as Fig.) should be provided in digital form as black and white (grayscale mode) in TIF format, with a minimum resolution of 600 DPI or colour (CMYK mode) in TIF or JPG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. Charts should be provided in the form of editable source files (e.g. Excel).
9. The Editorial Board recommends using a uniform system of graphic illustrations (figures, full-size plates, charts, etc.) as figures with continuous numbering (only in Arabic numerals) and a separate numbering system for text tables (including tables containing elements of graphics); it is possible to combine drawings and photographs in figures.
10. Captions for figures should, apart from the description of the content, contain the names of the author/authors of the illustrations, including the authors of possible digitalisation, e.g., drawn by D. Jagłowska (a-b), M. Łomnicki (f-h), photo by M. Jóźwikowska (c-d), and/or sources of illustrations, e.g., drawn by M. Łomnicki, according to A. Kaszubkiewicz, 2000. Captions for figures should not be concluded with full stops.
V. References
1. The list of references must contain a summary of all works and sources cited in the text, captions to figures, tables, etc., and each work included in the references must be referred to at least once in the text, captions, etc.
2. Bibliography should first contain the cited sources (manuscript and published). In the manuscript record, first the place (institution) where a particular source is located should be given, further the signature, the name of the source and the date of its compilation should be provided:
